Reupholstering furniture

Periwinkle

Hi there,

To start things off I'd just like to say I've been a browser for a while on this website.

I wanted to know if it was easy to reupholster a pair of classic wingback chairs?  I am looking for a little bit of help regarding upholstery as I’ve never had furniture reupholstered.  The idea is to advise the client to have them re-done instead of buying new.

They are in very good shape but the fabric has worn down over the years.

Any idea's ladies and gentlemen?

I would find some local upholsterers, and sort out some quotes. I would concentrate on this first, because the other aspects (fabric choice) depend on this.

Is the client replacing the chairs with something similar? If that is the case the quality of these would be superior and worth it to get upholstered.  Wingback chairs are not cheap so may be worth the cost of repair.

Thank you for your considerate replies.

I'm looking for quotes to reupholster and reinventing a dated chair.  I've been looking up fabric designs during the last couple of days so the client can have a range of prices.

The client should be able to choose and get something unique.
