Join us for the RIBA South Conservation talk to hear about the exterior renovation of the iconic Liberty Department Store from project architects Heritage Architecture Ltd.
The scheme took two years on site and included full scaffold to all elevations, with the renewal of three lanterns above the atria in new double-glazed units, repair and cleaning of brickwork and stonework, repair and redecoration of timber and render panels, structural repairs behind glazed brickwork, and the specialist repair of the gilding to the iconic weathervane.
Managed to get a ticket and it was an excellent presentation of the refurbishment of this iconic store. Stephen Levrant and Francesca Cipolla were both extremely knowledgeable about the heritage of the building and all the issues that needed to be dealt with.
