Our RIBA South Conservation opening talk for 2024 will feature Julian Vallis as our guest speaker. Julian Vallis, RIBA SCA AABC, is a partner at Vallis and Hall Conservation Architects in Chichester, West Sussex.

 

With a strong passion and extensive experience, Julian specialises in historic domestic, commercial, and ecclesiastical buildings. His projects often involve public use or rely on third-party funding. In addition to his impressive portfolio, Julian has also worked on projects for a local hospice and a homeless charity.

As a conservation accredited professional, Julian serves as the Inspecting Architect for over 50 churches. He is particularly fascinated by the creative re-use of spaces and thrives on overcoming the challenges posed by existing buildings. Julian thoroughly enjoys delving into the history and condition of structures, as well as contributing to their design and construction stages. His work has been recognised through numerous award nominations and wins.
