Hosted by the Royal Institute of British Architect's Gulf Chapter, this Sustainability Development Series offers insights into how global institutions are addressing the urgent issue of climate change as it relates to the built environment. This event offered a regional route to achieve net zero carbon developments for practitioners across the Gulf Cooperation Council.

Speakers in this talk gave insight on international commitments to address climate change, and showed the ways in which locally delivered projects can demonstrate how the principles of the UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030 are applicable in practice.

The second video in this series showcases regional projects in the Gulf that are using sustainable design strategies to help address the climate emergency, with projects including the Bee’ah Headquarters by Zaha Hadid Architects, the Msheireb project in Doha and completed/ongoing buildings in MASDAR, Abu Dhabi.
