When the government published its industrial strategy in 2013 it outlined the dual goals of 33% cost reduction and 50% faster delivery for the construction sector by 2025. Since then, the government has continued to push the industry to evolve, culminating in the announcement of Crown Commercial Services’ £10bn pan-government Offsite Construction Solutions framework. But with 2025 looming large on the horizon the question remains – how close is the industry to achieving these goals?
In this session we will explore what is happening today and if construction is heading towards success or failure in terms of its prefabrication goals. Our panel of experts will discuss different pre-fabrication approaches, how they enable improved efficiency and whether the sector is able to scale up this type of delivery. They will also explore the role pre-fabrication can play in driving improved quality and safety, as well as supporting sustainability goals.
