The RIBA approved CPD module considers 3D printing in general terms –what it is, different techniques and materials used, areas of application, manufacturing and environmental impacts. We then explore its application in the bathroom fittings sector by looking at metal 3D printing in particular, covering powder formulation, printing process and examples etc. We will also cover selection considerations for 3D printed bathroom fittings. Last but not least we will highlight the main standards and regulations related to bathroom fittings to assist the specification process and finish off by giving a real-life case study of a prestigious project in Norway.
