RICS Webinar CPD on Valuation approaches and Methods 16 October 2019 - by Tarek El-Madany

Attendees will be able to understand the different approaches and methods used as used by the RICS Global Standards 2017

Valuation approaches and methods depend heavily on the purpose of the valuation and the basis of value. Aspiring valuers must have a very strong understanding of those principles, and when to apply them and how. Experienced Valuers should also be aware of the most recent changes in the RICS Global Standards 2017 handbook and make sure they follow them in their reporting and application.

The approaches and methods described are in accordance with the IVS 2017 and RICS Global Standards 2017, and every chartered valuer must be able to demonstrate his/her understanding of the theory and practice of those concepts in order to qualify for RICS membership as well as practice the profession under RICS and IVS rules and regulations.

By the end of the webinar, you will:

1- Understand the three valuation approaches and several methods included in IVS 2017 and RICS Global Standards 2017

2- Know which specific valuation approach is best suited to which assets

3- Appreciate the relationship between the purpose of valuation, the basis of value, the approach used, and the method used.

4- Have a good understanding of the RICS standards in relation to the approaches and methods

5- Be able to assess the merits of various data available in the valuation approach and method selected.
