Natalie Skeete, Founder of Forest Architecture, shares her journey into architecture, the process of establishing a practice and the story of a number of her projects. With her heritage lying in the Caribbean island of Barbados, Natalie was born and raised in Greenwich, London and decided at the age of 11 she wanted to become an architect. In 2000, she moved to Hampshire to study architecture at the University of Portsmouth where she achieved a first class honours degree and two school design prizes.
In 2007, she gained a Masters in Architecture at the University of Bath and has been a visiting tutor for first year architecture students over the last five years. Natalie began her career in London and for a short period of time also worked in Melbourne, Australia.
Recently, Natalie's work has become more focused on low-energy and sustainable design and she is now studying for a Masters in Historic Building Conservation at the Weald and Downland Museum.
