Jan-Carlos Kucharek, event chair and editor of Products in Practice as well as assistant editor of RIBAJ.

Sumita Singha OBE, director of Ecologic Architects and author of Future Healthcare Design, 2020 and Re-think Design Guide, 2021. In her presentation, Sumita discusses the budget challenges impeding the NHS’ ability to improve existing building stock as well as the importance of wayfinding and patient-centred design for healthcare buildings.

Allan Hurdle is a technical consultant for Serge Ferrari Stamisol UK. In his presentation, he discusses building safety for facades, solar protection and ceilings for high-rise and high-risk buildings, with a particular focus on enhancing fire safety of complex building envelopes in high-risk buildings using limited combustible membranes in Euroclass A2.

Laurie Chetwood is founder of architectural firm, Chetwoods. He delivers a case study presentation on G Park London Docklands, with a particular focus on design considerations aimed at drawing the interfacing communities in as well as architectural elements that will contribute to the health and wellbeing of the building’s users.

Alex Street is project architect at Re-Format. Alex delivers a case study presentation on the nature-emersed Wendover Woods Visitor Centre – a new visitor centre for the Forestry Commission in the Chilterns, with particular focus on the sustainability principles used to guide its design.

Charlotte Markey is green urbanisation innovation manager at Polypipe Civils and Green Urbanisation. She joins the speaker line up to discuss the ways in which landscape engineering and products can positively impact the health and wellbeing of communities.

Mike Burnell is project architect at Hopkins Architects. He delivers a case study presentation on award-winning Alder Hey Children’s Hospital: Institute in the Park, with a particular focus on the circulation of nature and people through the building, its natural light, views, interior planting and passive sustainability measures that make its users feel ‘just right’.
