We are in the midst of producing new regulation and process to help avoid disasters such as Grenfell happening again. Hackitt Review has repeatedly mentioned the principles of CDM regulations as underlying guidelines for any future implementation. The webinar looks at some of the success and failures of the CDM regulations and how lessons learned can help to avoid similar pitfalls and provide a template for a more positive management and compliance regime for any similar new construction regulations for future.
Bobby Chakravarthy is the Past President of APS and Fellow of CABE. He is Equity Partner and Head of Architecture at Arcus Consulting, a multidisciplinary design and construction services practice with offices throughout the UK. He has 14 years’ experience working in Design, Master Planning, Urban Design and Health & Safety in a wide variety of sectors, but specialising principally in public sector and large scale residential property.
Bobby is part of and contributes to various industry bodies including CIC, HSE and BIM groups. He is Co-Founder of DotBuilt Environment (.be) which looks to inspire young professionals into construction. He is trustee of International Fire Safety Coalition (IFSS) which supports the creation, maintenance and use of high-quality international principles of fire safety, developing these using a transparent and inclusive standard-setting process. He is also Mentor and Co-founder of Statwig and is working with UNICEF, and other partners, to solve the problem of global wastage in vaccines and food supply.
