CPD Events

As part of Neurodiversity Celebration Week, the RIBA’s Enable Community hosted this webinar on 24 March 2022 with support from ICE Wales. In this webinar, leading experts provide an accessible guide for design professionals regarding neurodiversity and design, and introducing the forthcoming building standard.

The webinar was hosted by Helen Castle, Publishing Director at RIBA, and Chair of RIBA Enable Community. Enable is a network that amplifies the voices of RIBA staff on issues around disability and neurodiversity, seeking meaningful change in the workplace and across the architecture profession.

Speakers
Jane Simpson (architect and access consultant) and Helen Kane (inclusive design and access consultant) discuss what architects need to look out for when designing with neurodiversity, flagging up the pitfalls in the design process.
Jean Hewitt (inclusive design consultant at Buro Happold) discusses as the technical author, the new PAS 6463: Design for the Mind - Neurodiversity and the Built Environment book, due to be published late spring.
