AT Webinar with Business Sprinkler Alliance - Designing for fire

CPD Events

Over recent years the regulations and legislation that govern how we design and construct buildings has come under closer scrutiny.

While there is widepsread acknowledgement that we need to improve and change, there is confusion about guidance, how this will be managed and how to move forward.

Gaps in understanding, competences, compliance and execution of fire strategies have resulted in devastating – and in some cases fatal – fires and there is real pressure to improve how we deliver our buildings that are a higher quality and more resilience to events such as fire.

The question is, when it comes to designing for fire safety, what are for everyone?

Chaired by Jane Duncan, Director, Jane Duncan Architects and past president RIBA, the panel comprises Paul Bussey, Technical Design: CDM/Fire/Access Lead, ALLFORD HALL MONAGHAN MORRIS, Tom Roche, Senior Consultant Codes & Standards, FM Global, Mark O’Connor, Director, Structures & Head of Specialists, Property & Buildings, WSP and Iain Cox, former fire chief and former chair of and the Fire Risk Assessment Competency Council, current chair of the Business Sprinkler Alliance (BSA) , vice chair of the National Fire Sprinkler Network (NSFN) and board member of BAFE.
