This is a recorded livestream of RIBA Gulf's live lunch talk with Tim Leigh from Stage One that took place on 31 March 2022.

In this session, Tim discusses the heart of the expo - Adventures in the Al Wasl Dome at Expo 2020, and how Stage One transformed the structure into a performance venue.

The Al Wasl Plaza is a monument to ambitious architecture and construction. It forms the very heart of Expo 2020. To help turn the elegant dome into a location worthy of world-class performances, Stage One was commissioned to integrate lifts, revolves, a flying system and other stage machinery into the venue.

Speaker
With a creative industries background, Tim Leigh joined Stage One as Sales & Marketing Director in 2013. In 2019 he was appointed as Managing Director whilst maintaining responsibility for operational leadership of the sales team. He still remains involved in the delivery of larger projects from concept development through to delivery on site.

Tim has an MBA from Durham University in addition to a BA and MSc degree qualifications. He was elected to the Fellowship of the Royal Society of Arts in 2018.
