Engineering Complex Envelopes requires a new set of skills. In the first part of the latest in our summer webinar series, Eckersley O’Callaghan Director of glass and complex structures Ian Langham takes us through the five key attributes he believes engineers need to embrace when taking on these new and unique challenges.

In the second part, Technical Director Graham Coult applies these attributes to our design of the award-winning Steve Jobs Theatre in the highly seismic area of California. The stunning, daring and complex structure features a 7m high cylinder of structural glass which supports a 60m diameter carbon fibre roof.
