This is a sad excuse for a ‘public building’ as the community whom it was for was not even consulted on what was appropriate for the area and their use. The part that really stood out was;
Hudson Yards diverted at least $1.2 billion from affordable housing programs in disadvantaged neighborhoods.
This was a frivolous use of public money that has ended up in an expensive building/structure that can’t be used.
I hesitate to call this a sculpture – is a 150-foot-high, $200 million, latticed, waste-basket-shaped stairway to nowhere, sheathed in a gaudy, copper-cladded steel."
Great, now I can’t unsee it as anything other than a bin!
