AI and the construction/built environment

alex

These days it seems that every other article in the news talks about how advancements in Artificial Intelligence will lead to job losses.

What about the construction industry? Are you worried? Or do you think AI can actually help you?

The article does not mention construction jobs but personally I wouldn't be worried for the moment.

Yes it may have an impact down the line but it is not realistic for now to be concerned about it.

Here's a high quality article from RICS that covers AI in the built environment

The use of AI in the construction industry, in my opinion is still a long way away.  I do think that AI can help in large public buildings primarily in the conservation of energy.  If a building is controlling the heating and ventillation by the number of people occupying the space then there is no loss in wasted energy.  This of course is not something that is implemented at the moment and is still in consideration but from the article I posted it will be something that will be considered for the near future.
