3d printing in construction

Nazart

This is the innovation we need in architecture, the use of 3D printing will open up a new way in how we can design without barriers or expensive labour intensive work.

The Germans have come up with the first 3D printed house, they have all the regulatory requirements and will be well on their way to building more in the very near future.  In a way this is a very economical way of designing and building…..you are essentially detailing the entire project and while the 3D printer makes the structure you can manually fit in all the MEP while that is happening.  This will be less labour intensive and you have a finished building for site faster, in turn saving money.

I just came across this video about the 3D printed building and it talks about the company and the people behind this project and how they developed their ideas.

@foundational thanks for the link 😀

I like the whole idea of how this construction will be quick, efficient and less of an environmental impact than a traditional build.  This could be a great way to set up an infrastructure for growth in developing countries.
